Student Safety & Reporting

Autism Inspired Academy is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful learning environment for every student. Florida law requires schools to provide clear procedures for reporting concerns related to student safety. The information below explains how to report suspected abuse or misconduct and outlines the responsibilities of school personnel.

 

Training on Ethical Conduct Standards

All instructional personnel, educational support employees, and administrators are required as a condition of employment to complete training on standards of ethical conduct.

 

Reporting Suspected Child Abuse

All instructional personnel, educational support employees, and school administrators are required by Florida law to report suspected or actual child abuse immediately.

Reports must be made directly to the: Florida Abuse Hotline Phone: 1-800-96-ABUSE (1-800-962-2873) Online: www.reportabuse.dcf.state.fl.us

Reports to the hotline may be made at any time.

 

Reporting Misconduct by Instructional Personnel or Employees

All employees, educational support employees, and administrators have an obligation to report misconduct by instructional personnel and school administrators that affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student. Examples of misconduct include obscene language, drug and alcohol use, disparaging comments, prejudice or bigotry, sexual innuendo, cheating or testing violations, physical aggression, and accepting or offering favors.

Failure to Report

Under Florida law, instructional personnel, educational support employees, and school administrators who fail to report suspected or actual child abuse or alleged misconduct by other school personnel may face disciplinary action, termination of employment, possible revocation or suspension of educator certification, and criminal penalties as provided by law.
